Day 69 - Stacked Flower

     Today you get another two shots. My friend Chip convinced me to undertake doing stacked shots this week. This is something I've been wanting to try for a while and am happy I did. These are great fun to shoot. The first image uses 4 separate images and the second one uses 7. If anyone is really that interested in the technique I used just let me know and I'll add it.

     7D and EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM (1\200 sec @ F/9, ISO100). I used one B800 bounced off the ceiling to light.

Day 67 - Stacey Two-fer

     Today you get two instead of one. Stacey played model for me while I worked some more with the lights.

     Both shots were done with the 7D and EF24-70mm f/2.8 L USM. 2 - B800's and a reflector were used in the shots.

Day 64 - Bracelet

     Stacey went to an 80's prom and one of the bracelets she was wearing broke so it got volunteered to be my shot of the day.

Day 63 - Xavier

     I went to shoot a business portrait for a friend today and Xavier helped me out with my test shots.

     7D and EF24-70mm f/2.8 L USM (1/2o0 sec @ f/4, ISO 100, 54mm), 2 x B800's. I used a 22" beauty dish w/o a diffuser and a shoot through umbrella.

Day 62 - Xavier Plays

     Xavier is constantly playing his guitar. Not a day goes by when he isn't playing or practicing and you know what he's getting pretty damn good at it.

     7D and EF24-70mm f/2.8 L USM (1/250 sec @ f/11, ISO 100, 64mm), 2 AB800's. 1 B800 with just a reflector and one with a 22" beauty dish. I threw in a bit of processing in Photoshop to give it more of a grunge feel.

Day 61 - Peel

     Mmmmmmm oranges. I eat a lot and I mean A LOT of oranges so here's a peel up close.

Day 60 - Crushed Red Pepper

     Another grabbing what's close at hand shot. I had some crushed red pepper sitting on my desk so I poured some out, grabbed the macro and shot it.

     It's been a long few days and it's going to be an even longer week ahead. I didn't get in as much riding this past week as I'd hoped but here's to hoping this next week at least gives me that.

     I caught this ghostly looking apparition in my office.

Day 57 - Cell Shot

     It was getting late last night while at work and I knew I wasn't gong to make it home on time for my daily shot. I grabbed a quick photo with my cell phone from our garage over looking 5/3 Field and ran it through some noise removal.

Day 56 - Chain link

     I think I'm going to do a series of macro shoots of different parts of the bike during this project. This one I think I'm going to reshoot though this weekend and maybe print. I'm not happy that Shimano is a bit out of focus, but it's late and I don't have time to reshoot now.

Day 55 - Right side stuff

     Apparently when I took the quick sot of the bike yesterday I shot it from the wrong side. :) I was told cyclists like to see all the hardware on the 'right' side so I decided to take a quick shot.

Day 54 - My Wheels

     I've taken up biking recently with a few friends. We have a large number of paths in our area to ride and a good number of which used to be old railroad lines so you can practically ride forever. I originally thought this would just be a good way to get out with a group and get some exercise. After 2 rides though I love it. Get done with one ride and already thinking about the next. I hope that feeling doesn't fade.

Day 53 - Sleepy Ciara

     Jake our Aussie decided he didn't want to be still for a photo so i figured our sleepy Lab was an easy target.

     7D and EF24-70mm f/2.8 L USM (1/200 sec @ f/8, ISO 100, 35mm), 580EX ceiling bounced.

Day 52 - O

     Oakley.

     7D and EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM (1/100 sec @ F/22, ISO400). I used the 580ex and bounced off a gold reflector. Post done in PS CS4.

Day 51 - Oh no!

     I came home from my first ride today and found this on the white board in the kitchen. My oldest Xavier had drawn this after i left after I had told them we were going to try to ride 30 miles today; "30 miles is really far!"

Day 50 --- Duck, duck, ...

     We have a few ducks that like to lay in our yard this time of year sunning them selfs and taking refuge under the large tree up front. This year we have three that are wandering the area together; 2 males and 1 female.

Day 48 - Harddrive

     Some macro fun with a harddrive I pulled out of my PC.

     7D and EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM (1/200 sec @ F/11, ISO100). I used the 580ex and bounce it off a reflector I handheld. The macros I shoot are manually focused most of the time.

Day 47 - Holes

     This is also from the dust blower like the bristles from yesterday's shot. Just some more macro and post processing fun.

Day 46 - Bristles

     I have a little dust cleaner that sits on my desk and the more I look at it the more I want to shoot it all sorts of ways. Funny the things you can see in objects you never even gave a second thought to before.

Day 45 - Feathered Friend

     Say hello to my little friend. This little guy is the least shy of the bunch that visits our finch feeder. Hopefully we attract plenty of birds this year for some great photos.

Day 44 - Flower Arrangement

     Quick shot today of some of Stacey's flowers she got at graduation last weekend.

Day 43 - Time to Dust Off the Boots

     It's that time of year again when the weather is finally nice enough to get the bikes out. This is the Sidi logo on my riding boots.

Day 42 - Another Quickshot

     Hard drive was dying a painful death so I had to spend some time getting a new drive and cloning the old one while I could. So what you get is another day, another snapshot. This time it's the front STi logo.
